The Support Project for Artist in School Programs was developed to promote culture and art education in schools through the linkage of art fields and public education. It basically makes artists in art fields—such as gugak (Korean music), theater, film, dance, cartoon/animation, crafts, photography, and design-engage in culture and art education and help students improve their cultural sensitivity and creativity. In particular, for more than 15 years, the Project has been selecting and dispatching a great number of artist in the Korean music field as art instructor to school programs since 2000. The Korea Arts & Culture Education Service has reported on the current state of the project by year, showing figures and statistics, and further published “The Analysis on the Effect of the Support Project for Artist in School Program” in 2013 and 2014 highlighting the importance of the effect analysis on the recent project. This analysis was able to determine the overall effectiveness of the Support Project, but not able to closely examine the results by subdividing a specific region. Considering the reality in which the importance of big data emerges in every field, the close data analysis on the support project for gugak artist in school program that is growing as the greatest axis appears to be critical in determining the direction of future support project. Therefore, this study aims to present more subdivided data by analyzing various contents of the support project for gugak artists in school program (2013-2015) and to estimate growth and direction through it. First, it analyzes deviation and persistence in supports of 25 districts through examining schools operating gugak artists in school programs and suggests data that can be referred to for the future direction of the support program. It also points out changes and problems related to the reductions of recruitment of new art instructors and assigned class hours. It confirms that various operating methods that Dankook University R&DB Foundation had run in order to strengthen art instructor’s education capacity until 2015 - including art instructors’ study meetings and art instructors’ orchestra tour- lead to a positive result in educational terms, and they can be considered a good model that needs to be constantly promoted regardless of the operating organization in the future. However, since the short-term (4 to 5 days) training programs are limited in making art instructor immediately teach in the field of education, it points out the need to build training content site for art instructors. It is necessary to reduce the deviation of art instructor’s individual education through researching and developing textbooks, teaching aids, and educational contents that can be directly applied to the field of education, which can be taken into consideration in terms of the retraining and timely education of existing arts instructors.
