한배의 개념 고찰과 교육적 개념 정립을 위한 논의
한배는 2007년 개정 음악과 교육과정에서 국악 지도 개념으로 처음 선정되어 정착되었으 나 그 의미와 교육 용어로서의 적합성에 대한 논란이 종종 제기되었다. 이에 본 연구에서는 한배에 관한 어원적․개념적 고찰을 통해 한배의 보편적인 개념을 선정하고 국악 지도 개념 으로 정립할 수 있는 근거를 살펴보았다. 그리고 고찰 결과를 바탕으로 교육적 개념으로서 도입의 필요성과 적합성을 중심으로 교육적 의의를 논하고, 한배의 교육적 개념을 선정해보 았다. 본 연구의 목적은 한배 개념의 이론적 고찰을 통해 보편적이고 교육적인 개념을 정립 하여 제시함으로써 한배가 국악 지도 개념으로서 적합함으로 밝히고 한배 지도의 교육적 근 거를 제공하는 데 있다. 여러 문헌을 대상으로 한배의 개념을 고찰한 결과 한배는 활쏘기에서 ‘쏜 화살이 과녁에 다다르는 것’을 의미하는 한배와 밀전한 관련이 있고 유래가 깊음을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 음악에서는 빠르기, 장단의 한 주기, 장단, 시가(時價), 리듬형 등 여러 개념으로 사용하고 있으며, 다의적으로 설명하는 경우도 있음을 알아냈다. 한배의 의미 중 빠르기의 개념이 지 배적이었다. 따라서 이를 근거로 ‘빠르기’를 한배의 보편적인 개념으로 선정하였다. 한배는 ‘한배’와 ‘한 배’ 등으로 표기하는 사례가 있었는데 띄어 쓰는 표기는 오류임을 밝혀냈다. 또 한 일반적으로 한배를 사용할 때 ‘한배가 느리다.’, ‘한배가 빠르다.’로 기술하는 것이 바람직 하다고 보았으며, 장단으로 설명할 때에는 긴 장단은 ‘한배가 길다고 하고 한배가 느리다는 뜻이다.’로 설명하는 방법을 제안하였다. 길이의 의미를 갖고 있는 한배는 우리 음악의 전통 기보 체계인 정간보에서 빠르기를 정확 하게 인식하고, 장단을 기준으로 빠르기를 파악할 수 있는 개념이므로 정간보의 체계가 일반 화된 학교 교육에 도입하는 것이 적합함을 밝혔다. 한배의 교육적 개념은 보편적인 개념을 근거로 하여 ‘우리 음악의 빠르고 느린 정도를 이르는 말’로 선정하였다. 그리고 한배는 장단 을 통한 지도가 필요하므로 ‘일반적으로 장단을 통해 한배를 알 수 있다.’를 부연 설명할 것 을 제안하였다. 본 연구는 한배의 용례를 통해 보편적인 개념과 교육적 개념을 정립하는 데 중점을 두었 다. 앞으로 본 연구의 결과를 이론적 바탕으로 하여 구체적인 지도 체계와 그에 따른 지도 방안에 관한 연구가 이루어져야 할 것이다.
Examining the Concept of Hanbae and Discussing the Establishment of its Educational Concept
Hanbae was first selected and situated as an instructional concept of Korean music in the 2007 revised music curriculum, but the controversy over its meaning and suitability for an educational term was often raised. To this, the study set up a universal concept of hanbae through its etymological and conceptual reviews and examined the grounds that can establish it as an instructional concept for Korean music. Based on the result of the examination, the study discussed educational implications centering on the necessity and appropriateness of introducing hanbae as an educational concept and set up the educational concept of hanbae. As a result of examining the concepts of hanbae in various literature, it was found that hanbae was closely related to its meaning ‘a shot arrow reaches the target’ in archery and was of deep origin. In music, it is used in various concepts such as tempo, a cycle of jangdan, jangdan, siga(時價), and rhythmic patterns, and there are cases where it is described in multi-purpose. Thus, on the basis of these findings, ‘tempo’ was selected as the universal concept of hanbae. There have been cases where hanbae is written as ‘한배(hanbae)’ and ‘한 배(han bae)’, but it turned out that the spacing of the words was an error. When using hanbae in general, it is considered adequate to describe as ‘the hanbae of a given piece is slow or fast.’ When explaining in terms of jangdan, it is suggested to describe a long-jandan pattern as ‘hanbae is long, and that means slow.’ Hanbae, which has the meaning of length, is a concept that accurately recognizes tempos in Jeongganbo, the Korean traditional music notation system, and understands tempos based on jangdan. Thus, it was revealed that it is appropriate to introduce the system of Jeongganbo into standardized school education. The educational concept of hanbae was set as ‘a term indicating the fast or slow degree of Korean music’ based on the universal concept. Since hanbae requires instruction through jangdan, it was suggested to explain further that ‘generally, one can learn hanbae through jangdan.’ This study focused on constructing the universal concept and the educational concept through the exemplary usages of hanbae. With the findings of this study as a theoretical basis, it is expected that further studies on specific teaching systems and corresponding teaching plans should be conducted.
